Ingredients:
1 head of cabbage shredded (or 1-2 bags of coleslaw mix)
1 head of cabbage shredded (or 1-2 bags of coleslaw mix)
1 small onion, sliced (I think I prefer to cook the onion with the beef and garlic)
1 large can of your favourite tomato sauce (If it is a thick sauce, add up to 1/2 cup water or vegetable juice)
1 lb ground beef, cooked (with minced garlic, 1/2 tsp dried thyme and seasoned with salt and pepper if you like)
1-1 1/2 cups cooked rice
Instructions:
Layer the ingredients in a large baking dish in the following order
1/2 cabbage
ground beef
onion
rice
1/2 cheese
1/2 cabbage
tomato sauce
1/2 cheese
Cover loosely with foil and bake at 350F for about 60-90 mins or until edges are bubbly and cheese is melted.
Serves 6.
